Sense of Home
30in x 40in Acrylic on canvas.
Commissioned to replicate the view of a past memory.
A place that was home, where the lilacs grew, their scent filled the morning air. The sound of humans, with their busy hums and distant thoughts. An emblem of justice, a place where chaos meets order, where the courts keep their kingdoms secure. A remembrance of faith guards those ruling dark from light.
The story of home is a temporary title. As it should be, to see, experience, feel, grow, fall. For home is the story, the people rooted within history. To talk to the ones who have never had the chance or need to leave.
Who have seen the ugly, the beautiful, and the true. It's odd; a feeling of knowing I get to experience through others, indeed the high of newness creates one of ambition. To see the how, the why, the reason people interpret the way they do. Perhaps simply one of observation, to feed the need of understanding, to feel the comfort of discomfort. To see this as a natural trait or one of survival, quite curious.
